Droid Hunt has made its long-awaited return to Louisiana. GalaxyCon- New Orleans was the first of many planned hunts and it was certainly a triumph for both Bast Alpha Garrison and fans of the Star Wars universe. After a multi-year hiatus, the fan-favorite interactive game once again brought the magic of the galaxy far, far away to life — and the response was overwhelming.
Throughout the weekend, hundreds of attendees proudly wore their Droid Hunt badges, eagerly dodging patrolling troopers in hopes of completing their missions and avoiding “capture.” Costumed BAG members brought boundless enthusiasm to every patrol, making the event feel like a real Imperial operation. Dedication to detail and crowd engagement reminded everyone why the 501st is known worldwide as the “Bad Guys Doing Good.”
The Droid Hunt concluded with a raffle, rewarding participants with a wide array of Star Wars-themed prizes donated by members. The smiles on fans’ faces — both kids and adults — proved that the event did more than entertain; it built community and created lasting memories.
Most importantly, the return of the Droid Hunt served as a strong reminder of what makes conventions so special — fan-led experiences powered by passion and generosity.
A huge shout out to the BAG Droid Hunt Team for organizing such a seamless, thrilling, and nostalgic event. Troopers competed to see who could find the most badges. It took the effort of three rookie troopers (TK-20255, TK-15600, and TK-14805) to take down veteran TK- 8597. A special thank you to TK-11107, TK-51419, TK-8597, the Rancor Raiders, and the CO of Neon City Garrison, TK-10348, for assisting with this event.
We aim to make Droid Hunt a mainstay once again in Louisiana and beyond!
