New to the 501st, not the Force...

My name is Kristi, I'm from Buffalo, NY and transplanted to Lake Charles (yeah, it's a long story). I met my husband in an IRC chatroom club for Star Wars when we were 12 years old and somehow ended up here!

I'm interested in making Mara Jade's black bodysuit from Heir to the Empire. And I'm totally ignoring the side eyes I'm getting while looking at the printout at work.

I'm a dog trainer at Petco, so if your little Wookiees are turning to the dark side... uh, well, that's probably a good thing. *cough*

But yeah, I'm open to any & all questions. I have a Master's in English from Converse College, I'm still not really sure what Mardi Gras is, and I am super excited that I'm not the only one who wants to dress up and wave lightsabers around in SWLA.

Welcome to the forums! Paul Land (Landeaux) is from lake Charles, so there's troopers in your neck of the woods. Both Karen (Lady k) and Victoria (screenname?) Do the costume you are interested in and I'm sure will give you pointers on your potential build. We are doing Cyphacon in lake Charles this coming April and you should come out and visit the table to meet members and get ideas on what you will need to do. That costume, I believe, is also approvable with the rebel legion. So you maybe able to have duel approval. But be sure to join Mara Jades detachment and talk to others who have the costume so you can get that much more help. Hope to troop with you soon!
